While having a backup of any important files is a good idea, before we do any operation on your computer that may result in the loss of important data we back up all of the files in the following directories for each user:
- Desktop
- Downloads
- Favorites
- My Documents
- My Pictures
- My Videos
However, if you have files in areas that are not listed above, there is a chance that you may lose those files so a recent backup is suggested to prevent issues during restore.
